I`m Nishimura. The first article of the new year will introduce Meiji Jingu and Naritasan Shinshoji Temple.
There were many people at this year’s Meiji Jingu. It is especially crowded during the New Year holidays.
It ’s a solemn atmosphere.
A cluster occurred at Meiji Jingu after I worshiped, and general worship was canceled until January 16th.(https://www.meijijingu.or.jp/)
You can take a shortcut to Meiji Jingu by exiting the temporary ticket gate from JR Harajuku Station. This temporary ticket gate is only installed during the year-end and New Year holidays.
Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture. Although it has the name “Narita”, it is located far from Narita Airport. Every year on February 3rd, there is an event called “Setsubun”, so it is very crowded here.
↓This is Naritasan Shinshoji Temple at the time of Setsubun (2/3). It is very crowded.
Head to Shinshoji Temple while walking along the road. There is a Japanese garden in the back of Shinshoji Temple.
It is a monument of Basho Matsuo(Japanese Poet).
From Tokyo Station, take the JR Yokosuka Line to JR Narita Station(about 75minute~2h). It is about a 15minute walk from JR Narita Station. Be careful of cars as the walking road is narrow.
There are many eel restaurants around Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, but here is the most popular. Lunch time is always crowded. You can enjoy freshly baked eel.
川豊の場所 Access of Kawatomi
It is on the way between JR Narita Station and Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Lunch time is crowded, so make a reservation before entering the store. You had better go to Shinshoji Temple while you wait.
